This location is part of the Western Andhra Tollway project. We are stationed at K. M. 114 on N. H. 7, right near Shakhapur Village. It is in the Addakal Mandal area of Mahabub Nagar. Working on a highway means there is never a quiet moment. The trucks and cars keep going by day and night. We have our site offices and the toll booths set up here. It gets very dusty and the sun is usually quite strong out on the road. We are part of the Larsen Toubro team, but out here, it feels more like being part of the road itself. There is always maintenance to do or traffic to manage. Our base is basically a collection of portable buildings and the main toll structures near the village. We spend a lot of time checking the pavement and making sure things are moving as they should. It isn't a typical office job where you sit in a chair all day. You have to be out there in the heat. Mahabub Nagar has a lot of traffic passing through on the way to the bigger cities. Most of us stay in the nearby area or commute from the town. It’s hard work and the hours can be long, especially when the highway gets backed up. We just keep the operations running at Shakhapur and deal with the daily issues that pop up on National Highway 7. It is a constant cycle of keeping the vehicles moving through the tollway safely.
