Vasantham Stores

Vasantham Stores is situated on Kaliammann Kovil Street, right along the Trichy Main Road in Melur. We are in the Kottampatti area of Madurai, which stays pretty hot and busy throughout most of the year. Our shop has been a part of this street for a long time. We sell the usual household staples like rice, pulses, and cooking oil. There are also some snacks and small plastic toys for children. The road outside can be quite dusty with all the buses and trucks going toward Trichy, so we are constantly dusting the jars and packets on the counter. It is a lot of work but it keeps the place looking decent for the customers. Most of our customers are locals who live within walking distance in the 625106 area. They come in for their daily needs and we know exactly what they usually want before they even ask. I run the place with my brother. We take turns staying at the shop so we can each have some time off during the week. The building is old and has its quirks, like the front door that squeaks every time someone walks in. We haven't bothered fixing it because it lets us know a customer has arrived when we are working in the back room. We don't have any big plans for expansion. We just want to keep serving the people here. It is honest work that keeps us busy.
