Thulasi Super Market

Thulasi Super Market is situated at number 17 on Bazaar Street. Elumalai is a small town, and Bazaar Street is really the heart of it, so we see everyone eventually. Despite the name "Super Market," we aren't one of those massive chains with the bright floors and music playing. We are just a local shop that grew a bit larger over time. We have more aisles than the smaller stalls nearby, but it still feels like a neighborhood place. The ceiling is high, which helps keep it cool during the summer months when the sun beats down on the street outside. We stock a lot of dry goods, household items, and whatever else the locals ask us to carry. There’s always a bit of a queue in the evenings when people are heading home from work. We have a few staff members who help out, mostly local kids who are good at carrying the heavy bags out to people’s carts. Sometimes the stock doesn't arrive on time because the roads into Elumalai can be tricky, but people here are patient. We don't have a computer for the billing, so we do everything with paper receipts and a calculator that has seen better days. It’s a busy life, especially on weekends, but we like being right in the middle of Bazaar Street where everything happens. Every morning we sweep the front step to clear the dust before the trucks start arriving.
