Sudharshan

My name is Sudharshan and I run this shop at 579 Trichy Main Road in Melur. It’s right on the main road so there is always a lot of dust and noise from the buses going past. We have been in Melur for a long time. This is just a small place where we sell different kinds of things that people in Tamil Nadu use every day. We carry basic groceries and some household items. The shop is quite old and the walls could probably use some paint. But we are too busy to worry about that. Most of our customers are locals who are just passing by on their way home. We open early in the morning and stay open until the last bus has gone by. It’s a simple way to make a living. We don't have any staff, just me and my brother taking turns. We buy our stock from the bigger towns nearby. Melur is a small place but the road makes it feel busy. We have shelves full of jars and packets. Sometimes it's hard to keep track of everything, but we do our best. There's no fancy computer here, just a calculator and a notebook. We know what people want and we try to keep it in stock. If you're driving down Trichy Main Road, you'll see us there among the other shops. Sometimes the monkeys come by from the trees nearby and we have to shoo them away. It keeps life interesting here at the store.
