Sriram Store

You can find Sriram Store right in the thick of things on Nethaji Road in Madurai. We are at 70 Main Market, which is quite close to the New Arya Bavan if you know that landmark. Being in the market area means it is always noisy and there is always something going on outside our door. We have been here for years and the shop is full of all kinds of stuff packed into every available corner. We sell basic groceries and things you use at home every day. Sometimes it is hard to find a place to stand when we are unloading the sacks of grain. Madurai is a busy city and this part of the market is one of the busiest spots in 625001. We don't spend much time on decorations or making things look pretty. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we are usually too busy serving people to worry about that. My father started this and now we just keep it going. We know the rhythm of the market well. The early morning rush of people getting things for breakfast is when we are most active. Then it slows down a bit in the afternoon heat. We sit on the wooden stools and wait for the evening crowd to show up. It is honest work for us.
