Sri Thirupathi Store

If you walk down Mill Road in Melur, you'll find us right near the Kakkan G Statue. Sri Thirupathi Store has been sitting here for a good while now. It’s one of those shops where you can find a bit of everything, from notebooks to washing powder. We don't have a big team, just a few of us making sure things stay in order. The location is pretty good because everyone knows the statue, so we're easy to find. Most of the time, we’re busy arranging the new stock that comes in every couple of days. We get a lot of students and workers who stop by for a quick drink or something they forgot to buy for their house. The building is an older one, but it does the job. We don’t bother with fancy displays or lights. We just put the items on the wooden shelves where people can see them. Some days are slow, especially when it rains hard, but mostly there's a steady stream of people coming through. We talk to the customers about the weather or local news while we bag their items. It’s a basic way to run a shop, but it works for us and the people here in Madurai. We just keep our heads down and keep the store running day after day without making a big deal out of it. We don't need any big signs to tell people what we do, they just see the door open and come on in.
