Sri Annai Engineering

Sri Annai Engineering is out in S Vellalapatti, right at No 7/8 in Vadakupalayam. It is a quiet enough area compared to the big city, but we stay busy with the work people bring us. Most of what we do is basic engineering and repair stuff. You will usually find a few of us standing around a piece of equipment trying to figure out the best way to fix a weld or cut a new piece of plate. The shop is open to the air, which helps when it gets hot, but the rain can be a bit of a pain sometimes. We see a lot of tractor parts and irrigation equipment because of the farms around here. People just drop things off and we tell them when to come back. There is always a pot of coffee or tea somewhere and plenty of dust on everything. We don't go in for anything flashy. We just have our tools and the work that needs doing. Sometimes the work is slow and we just clean up the shop, but usually, there is something that needs a bit of grinding or a fresh coat of paint. The neighbors know us by name, and we mostly get our jobs through people talking to each other at the local market. It’s a simple setup, just a few guys working with metal and trying to make sure things work like they are supposed to before they leave the gate.
