Silambarasan Hardware Shop

Silambarasan Hardware Shop is at number 11 in the Sangeeth Plaza on Kalpalam Road. The plaza has a lot of different shops, so there are always people coming and going throughout the day. Our hardware shop is filled with all the usual things like nails, hammers, paint cans, and pipes. It’s a bit dusty because of all the metal and wood we have lying around on the floor and shelves. We spend a lot of our time helping people find the exact screw or tool they need for a repair at home. Most of the people who come in are regulars from the neighborhood who know our name. The Kalpalam Road area can get quite congested during the rush hour, so it’s sometimes hard for customers to park right in front of the plaza. We have been operating out of this unit for a while now. We don't have any fancy displays. The shelves are just packed high with boxes and bins. My hands are usually a bit dirty from handling the stock, but that’s just how it is in a hardware store. We don't have a big corporate philosophy or anything. We just try to have what people are looking for on the shelves. If we don't have it, we usually know where they can get it. It’s a busy life, especially on weekends when everyone is doing home projects. We just keep the shop running and help out as best as we can.
