Sakkarai Store

Sakkarai Store is located on Nehruji Main Road in the Puthu Vilangudi part of Vadipatti. This is a nice spot because it’s easy for people to find us while they are out running errands. We are just a basic grocery store, nothing more and nothing less. You can find everything from spices and lentils to household cleaners here. The shelves are mostly made of metal and we try to keep them organized, though things get messy when we are busy. The floor is made of grey tiles that show the dirt easily, so we are always sweeping. We get a lot of farmers coming in from the nearby fields to buy supplies. They usually have a lot of stories to tell about the crops and the rain. It makes the day go by faster when you have people to talk to. We keep a large jar of candies on the counter for the kids who come in with their parents. It’s a small thing, but it makes them happy. We don’t have air conditioning, just a big ceiling fan that wobbles a little bit. The shop is our second home, and we spend most of our waking hours here. It’s a steady life and we are thankful for the regulars who support us. We usually close up when the streetlights come on.
