Nksst Masalas Private Limited is based out of Door No 7/10 on Mela Street in Valayankulam. It’s in the Thiruparankundram Taluk area. If you come near our building, the first thing you’ll notice is the smell of ground chilies and turmeric. It’s quite strong and usually makes the new visitors sneeze. We’ve been grinding spices here for a good bit of time. It’s a dusty job, and we all wear aprons that are stained with different colors by the end of the shift. We aren't a giant factory. We’re more of a local operation where we know everyone’s name. We get the raw spices, clean them, and grind them up. The machines are loud, so we have to shout sometimes to hear each other. We don't have a big marketing team. Most of our sales happen because people around Valayankulam know our stuff is good. We don't use any fancy words to describe what we do. We just make masala. Sometimes the spice levels vary a bit because that’s how natural ingredients work. We try to be consistent, but we aren't robots. It’s hard work, especially when it’s hot outside and the grinders are running. We just keep going because it’s what we know. Our families have been around this area for generations. If you need some masala, you just come to Mela Street and look for the building with the spice smell. It might take a minute to get used to it.
