Muthu Masala

We have been here at 97A on Palam Station Road for a good while now. Sellur is a busy place, and you can always hear the trains or the traffic nearby. Most days start pretty early because that is when the fresh stuff comes in. We mostly just focus on getting the masalas ready and making sure everything is packed right. It gets a bit dusty sometimes with the grinders running, but that is just how it goes in this line of work. My uncle used to say that the smell of the spices stays on your clothes forever, and he was right. We don't have a big fancy office or anything like that. It is just a simple shop where we do our work. People walk by on their way to the station and sometimes they stop in for a bit. The shelves are mostly full of bags and jars, and we try to keep things organized, though it gets messy when we are busy. It’s a lot of manual labor, lifting heavy sacks and moving things around. We don't use many machines, just the old ones that still work fine. Sometimes the power goes out and we just sit outside on the steps until it comes back. It is a quiet life in a loud part of town. We just keep our heads down and get the orders done for whoever needs them. We don't worry about being the biggest, just about finishing the day's tasks before the sun goes down completely.
