Manjula Stores

Manjula Stores is located on the Madurai Main Road in Alanganallur. We are pretty easy to find if you are driving through this part of the country. It is a local shop where we keep the essentials for the families living around here. We have sacks of rice, different types of pulses, and all the usual groceries people use every day. The shop is a bit small, and things are stacked up quite high towards the ceiling. We try to keep it cool inside, but in the Madurai heat, it is not always an easy task. We know most of the people who come in here by their names. They have been buying their provisions from us for many years. It is a simple business at the end of the day. We get our stock from the city and sell it here to the locals. Sometimes the deliveries are late because of the heavy traffic on the main road. We don't have any fancy displays or neon signs to attract people. Just the goods on the shelves and a few bins for the loose items like sugar and flour. The floor is just plain stone, and it gets swept a few times every day to keep the dust away. We spend a lot of time chatting with the customers while we weigh out their orders on the scale. It is a bit slow-paced compared to the big supermarkets, but we like it that way. We just provide what the village needs without making a big fuss.
