Madurai Hi Tech Food Grains Association

We are located right in the thick of it on East Masi Street in Madurai. Specifically, we are on the second floor of number 342. If you know Madurai, you know East Masi Street is always crowded with people, carts, and all sorts of business happening at once. Madurai Hi Tech Food Grains Association is based here, and we spend our time dealing with the grain trade. It’s an old-school kind of place. The stairs up to the second floor are a bit steep and the building has that specific smell of old paper and stored grains. We don’t have air conditioning in every room, so we mostly rely on the ceiling fans and keeping the windows open to catch whatever breeze comes through the busy street below. Our desks are covered in ledgers and samples of different grains we are looking at. It’s not high-tech in the way a computer company is, despite the name; it’s more about the actual physical food grains and the people who grow and sell them. We have meetings with different members of the association, and there is usually a lot of loud talking and tea drinking involved. We've been part of this Madurai landscape for a while. It’s hard work, and the heat can be tough, but we just keep doing what we’ve always done from this office on East Masi Street.
