M R P J Engineering is located at 857 Rajapalayamman Kovil Street. Working on a street named after a temple means things are usually quite lively, especially during festival times. You can hear the bells and the music sometimes while we are busy with our engineering work. The shop itself is a modest place. We don't have a big sign out front, just the number on the door and the sound of work coming from inside. It’s a narrow street, so we have to be careful when moving materials in and out so we don't block the neighbors. We’ve gotten used to the rhythm of the neighborhood over the years. Most of our days are spent at the workbench or moving between the different machines we have set up. It gets a bit hot in the summer, but that's just part of the job. We don't really do much marketing or anything like that. People mostly find us because they live nearby or someone told them we could help with a metal job. We like to keep things simple. We wake up, open the shop, do the work, and go home. There’s a certain satisfaction in finishing a piece and seeing it ready to go. The floor is usually covered in metal shavings by the end of the day, which means it was a productive shift. We wouldn't want to be anywhere else. We just take it one day at a time and do what needs to be done.
