Anjali Foods

You can find Anjali Foods at 2/16 on the Chennai Highway in Uthangudi. It’s a busy spot because of all the trucks and cars passing through. We’ve been working out of this location for a good while. The space is mostly used for storing things and getting orders ready to go. It smells like food products most of the time, which isn't a bad thing. We don't have a big corporate setup. It’s just a few of us making sure everything is packed correctly. The highway noise is pretty constant, but we don't mind it much anymore. Sometimes the dust from the road gets in, so we spend a lot of time cleaning. It's a simple operation. We load up the vans and send them out. There’s a lot of lifting and moving boxes throughout the day. We don’t use any high-tech systems, just pen and paper and a basic computer for the records. It gets hot in the afternoons, especially during the summer months. We usually take a break when the sun is at its peak. The neighbors are mostly other small businesses and warehouses. We all know each other. We just try to keep our heads down and do the work. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we do. We’ve stayed in Uthangudi because it’s convenient for transport. That’s the most important thing for us. It is just a basic warehouse setup with no frills at all.
