Our shop is at 112, Alagar Kovil Main Road. We are quite close to the Perumal Kovil, so you can hear the temple bells from here in the mornings and evenings. It’s a nice part of town, even if the traffic on the main road gets a bit heavy during festival times. The shop is full of all the usual hardware items you’d need for a house. We have pipes, taps, tools, and all sorts of small things in glass jars on the counter. I spend a lot of time counting out washers or finding the right size pipe fitting for someone. The shelves are packed tight. Sometimes it feels like if I pull one thing out, the whole row might move. We don’t have a computer for everything, so a lot of it is done by memory and a notebook on the desk. The floor is old stone and it stays relatively cool even when it’s hot outside. People walking to the temple often stop by to ask for directions or just to look at the tools we have hanging up outside. We aren't a big store, just a regular place where you can get what you need without much fuss. We know most of the people who live around here. They stop by to chat as much as they do to buy things. It’s a steady kind of life. We open early and close when the street gets quiet at night.
