Santosh Brick Industries

Santosh Brick Industries is our small setup in Village Tulsiyai Laukahi. We are located near the SSB Camp Nari, which makes it easy to give people directions. If you find the camp, you are basically at our doorstep. The village life is slow but we stay busy with the bricks most of the year. It is a lot of manual labor, digging the clay and setting the molds by hand. We have a few piles of bricks that have been sitting there since last season, and new ones coming out every week. We don't use much technology here. It is mostly just hands-on work and using the old ways that have worked for our fathers before us. The local community in Tulsiyai Laukahi is small, so we know most of the people who come to buy from us. Sometimes we sit around and have tea while waiting for the next truck to arrive for loading. It is a noisy place when the machinery is actually running, but otherwise, it is just the sound of the wind across the fields. We aren't looking to expand into some giant firm. We are happy right where we are near the Nari camp. It is a decent living and we take it one day at a time. The bricks aren't perfect shapes every time, but they are strong and they get the building done for the locals.
