Nischith Bricks

We are over at 69-8-47 in Deshahalli. It’s a quiet enough area, which is good for what we do. Bricks take time to dry and set, and you need a bit of space for that. We spend most of our time out in the open air. The weather dictates everything for us. If it’s sunny, we’re happy because the work moves fast. If the clouds start rolling in, we’re all running around trying to protect the stock. It’s a physical life. You’re always lifting, moving, or counting. We don’t have a lot of fancy equipment, just the basics that get the job done. Deshahalli is a small place, so we mostly supply the local construction projects around here. You can see our bricks in a lot of the new walls going up down the road. It makes me feel a bit proud, I guess, even if it’s just a brick. We have a small tea stall nearby where we go for breaks. That’s usually where the real business talk happens, over a hot cup of tea. We don’t have a big corporate office or a marketing team. It’s just me and a few workers trying to make a living. The days are long and the work is dirty, but it’s what we know. We just focus on getting the orders ready and making sure the quality is decent enough for people to keep coming back.
