The Meat Masters

We are The Meat Masters over on Firozpur Road. It is a very busy road, so there are always cars and buses rushing by our front door. Inside, it is a lot of chopping and managing the cold storage units. We start very early in the morning before the sun is even up properly. The knives always have to be kept sharp, so that is the first thing we do every day. We handle many different cuts of meat, getting them ready for whoever walks in. It is a cold environment because of all the refrigerators, so we usually wear thick sweaters even in the middle of summer. The floor is tiled and we are constantly washing it down with water to keep it clean. We don't have much to say about ourselves, we just handle the meat and serve the customers. People come in, tell us what they need, and we wrap it up in brown paper or bags. Sometimes the line gets long on the weekends, and we just keep our heads down and keep working until everyone is sorted. It is a practical, physical job. We have been on Firozpur Road for a bit, and we know the regulars who come in every Tuesday or Friday. We don't use any fancy machines, mostly just traditional tools and our own hands. There is a distinct smell of cold air. It is hard on the hands, especially when it gets chilly in the winter. We just show up and work.
