Sylvies Salon

You have to come up to the first floor to find us here in Sarabha Nagar. We are at 17-C, right near where that Hong Kong Restaurant is. Being upstairs is actually nice because we can look out the window at the street below without everyone staring in. It’s a bit more private that way. Ludhiana is always so busy, so it’s like a little escape up here. The salon has been in this spot for some time. We have some regular customers who have been coming since we first opened. They know exactly where the light switch is if we forget. The decor is just whatever we’ve picked up over the years. A few pictures on the wall, some plants that hopefully stay green, and our work stations. It smells like hairspray and sometimes like the food from the restaurant downstairs when they start cooking lunch. We don’t have a fancy website or a marketing team. It’s just Sylvie and a couple of helpers. We do hair, nails, and all the usual beauty things. Some days it’s quiet and we just sit and chat, and other days everyone decides to come at once. We just take it as it comes. It’s a steady life, and we like being part of the neighborhood here in Sarabha Nagar. Even when the stairs feel a bit steep at the end of the day, it's still home.
