Shamay Di Hatti

People usually find us on Gurudwara Dukhniwaran Sahib Road. The shop is at number 28-29 in Field Ganj. It is a busy part of Ludhiana and there is always something happening outside. We open the shutters early in the morning when the street is still a bit quiet. By midday, the noise from the traffic picks up. Our space isn't very fancy but it gets the job done. The walls have been the same color for years. Customers come in and sit down on the chairs we have lined up. Some people are regulars who live right here in Field Ganj. They know where everything is kept. We spend most of the day handling things behind the counter or talking to the folks who stop by. Sometimes the fans make a bit of noise, but nobody seems to mind much. We just keep things moving along. It gets hot in the summer months so we keep the doors open for a breeze. There is no big sign or anything, just the name Shamay Di Hatti on the front. We are just a local spot where people can drop in while they are out on the road. It is simple work and we have stayed in this same spot for a long time. Nothing much changes around here except the people passing by on the street. It is just a regular life for us here in Ludhiana and we are okay with that. Most days go by pretty fast.
