I’ve been sitting in this spot in Jawahar Nagar Camp for years now. It’s on Lane Number 11, right near the Sabzi Mandi. You can imagine how loud it gets in the mornings with the vegetable sellers and the college crowd from Cumins College Road passing by. My office is simple. I have a wooden desk, some registers where I write down the plot numbers, and a few plastic chairs for visitors. People come in looking for shops or maybe a small house nearby. I know most of the owners around here because I’ve lived in this part of town forever. It’s not like those big firms in the city. I do everything myself mostly. Sometimes my nephew helps out when he’s not busy. We talk about the prices, the paperwork, and who is moving out. There’s always someone looking for a place to stay near the college. The tea stall next door brings over a cup whenever I have a client. We just sit and look at what’s available on my lists. It’s basic work but it keeps me busy. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint, I know, but I never seem to get around to it. If you're walking back from the market with your bags, you'll see my sign. It’s a decent place to work and I like hearing the news from the neighborhood every day.
