Our place is located on the road between Spring Dale School and Gaushala Chownk in Khanna. If you are driving through Punjab, you’ll see the school first and then you just keep going toward the chownk. The road can get pretty dusty with all the tractors and trucks passing by, so we usually keep the front door shut to keep the grit out. It’s a lively area, though. You can hear the kids at the school playing during their break times, and then there’s the sound of the traffic heading toward the market. The building is a sturdy one, built to last, but it has its quirks like the door that sticks if it’s been raining. We spend a lot of time organizing things in the back. There isn’t much for decoration, just the stuff we actually need to work. We have a small area where people can sit while they wait. It’s mostly just the locals who come in, people who live nearby or are passing through on their way to the gaushala. Sometimes someone stops by just to ask for directions because the roads around here can be confusing for outsiders. We don't mind. It’s a friendly enough spot. We just keep our heads down and do what needs to be done every day. The routine stays mostly the same, from the morning sweep to locking up at night when the street lights finally flicker on.
