Reforming Beauty Saloon

Harnam Nagar is a bit of a tricky spot because of the railway crossing nearby. You can always hear the trains coming through, which kind of gives the shop its own rhythm. We are at Shop No. 1177, right in the Model Town area of Ludhiana. The shop is small, but we’ve packed a lot into it. We call it Reforming Beauty, though most people just know us as the salon near the tracks. It’s a very local feel here. You get the dust from the road sometimes when the wind blows, so we spend a lot of time wiping down the counters. We have a few chairs for hair and a small corner for other beauty stuff. People from the nearby houses just walk over when they need something done. It’s not the kind of place you need an appointment for weeks in advance. You just show up and if there’s a chair open, you sit. We talk about local things, like how long the crossing gate was closed or the price of vegetables at the market. It’s a very practical life we lead here. The mirrors are a bit old, and the floor tile has a crack near the entrance, but it doesn't bother anyone. We just focus on making sure people look better when they leave than when they came in. That’s what matters most at the end of a busy day.
