Pinky Beauty Parlour

Pinky Beauty Parlour is tucked away in Street Number 1 of the Dhuri Line area. The full address is 1788/90 in Abdullapur Basti, which is a very busy and crowded part of Ludhiana. You have to navigate the narrow lanes to find us, but the locals all know where we are. I opened this parlor to serve the women in the Basti so they wouldn't have to go all the way to the main market for small things. We do a lot of threading and simple hair oiling here. The shop is small and a bit cramped when more than two people are inside, but it makes it feel cozy. We don't have an air conditioner, just a ceiling fan that hums all day long. In the summers, it gets quite warm, so we keep the door open to get a bit of a breeze from the street. Children are always playing outside in the lane, so there is always noise and shouting nearby. I keep a stack of old magazines for people to look at while they wait their turn. Most of my day is spent listening to the stories of the neighborhood women. It’s a very local kind of place where everyone knows everyone else’s business. I don't use any fancy marketing tricks or big promises. People come here because I’m nearby and they know I’ll do the work properly without charging too much.
