Partap Goods Carriers

If you’ve ever been down to Transport Nagar, you know what it’s like. Our place, Partap Goods Carriers, is at number 77. It’s right in the middle of all the heavy vehicles and the smell of diesel. We don’t have a fancy lobby or anything like that. Just a counter and some benches for people to sit on while they wait for their stuff to be loaded. The guys working the docks are usually pretty busy, and it can get loud when they are shouting to be heard over the engines. We see a lot of different people coming through here every day. Some are regular customers we’ve known for years, others are just passing through. The road outside is always being dug up or patched, so it’s a bit of a mess to get into the yard. We try to keep things organized, but when three trucks show up at the same time, it gets a bit wild. We have a small desk in the back where we keep the books. It’s usually covered in a thin layer of dust no matter how much we clean. We don’t use any big words or complicated systems. We just write things down and make sure the drivers know where they are going. It's hard work, and the days are long, especially in the winter when it gets dark so early. We just do what we can to keep the loads moving without too much trouble.
