The Road Transport Organisation

Transport Nagar is a place that never really sleeps, and The Road Transport Organisation is right in the middle of all that noise. It’s dusty here most of the time because of all the heavy trucks moving in and out of the yard. We have been working out of this spot for a long time, and we know most of the people around the neighborhood. It’s not a quiet job. The phones are always ringing, and there’s usually a driver waiting for instructions or some paperwork to be signed off. We don’t have a big corporate team; it’s just a few of us who handle the day-to-day stuff. Sometimes the tea guy comes around and that’s when we take a small break from the heat. Our office is simple, just some chairs and tables and plenty of ledgers. People come to us because they know where to find us. We don't go around advertising much or putting up big posters. The work is mostly about coordinating routes and making sure the lorries are in good shape for the highway. It’s a lot of repetitive tasks, checking logs and talking to people on the road. Some days are slow, but most of the time, there’s a bit of a rush to get things out before dark. It’s a plain way to make a living, but it keeps us busy and pays the bills. We like the routine of it all, even when it is exhausting.
