Nikhar Beauty Parlour

In Ludhiana, Ghumar Mandi is where everything happens. Our parlour, Nikhar Beauty Parlour, is at 434/4. If you know the Gurudwara Mai Nand Kaur, we are just around the back of it, near Krishna Nagar. It is a bit of a maze back there sometimes if you are not from the area. The shop is small but we fit a lot of stuff in. We have the hair stations and a small area tucked away for more private work. The ladies around here are always coming in to get ready for some function or another. It is Ludhiana, so there is always a wedding or a big party happening somewhere nearby. We stay busy. The place isn't polished like those big mall salons you see. We have our own way of doing things. The mirrors are a bit old and the chairs squeak a little when you sit down. But it is comfortable. People feel like they can just sit and talk about their day. We drink a lot of chai here throughout the afternoon. Usually, someone brings over snacks from the market to share. It is a friendly place. We do the usual stuff—facials, hair, and makeup. Nothing overly fancy or overpriced. Just regular prices for the neighborhood folks. Some days it is so crowded you can barely move, but we manage to get everyone done eventually. It is just a local parlour.
