Like Hair Saloon

Like Hair Saloon is located right in Main Moti Nagar. If you know Ludhiana well, you probably know where the Hari Om Mandir is; we are quite close to that landmark. The street outside can get pretty hectic with scooters and people walking by at all hours. Our shop is just a simple room with the basic stuff needed for hair. We’ve got the heavy chairs that spin and the big mirrors that show every bit of hair on the floor. Every morning, we roll up the shutter and let the air in. It’s usually quiet for the first hour, then the first few people start showing up for a trim. We don’t have anything fancy, just the combs, scissors, and the spray bottles we use to dampen hair before we start. The floor gets covered in hair pretty fast, so the broom is always leaning against the wall in the corner. Sometimes the tea man comes by and we take a quick break for five minutes. The walls are painted a plain color, and we have a few pictures hanging up, mostly just to fill the space. In the summer, the fan stays on all day long to keep the heat away. Moti Nagar is a busy part of Ludhiana, so there is always noise from the traffic outside. We are just here doing the work, day in and day out, till it’s time to close up and head back to our families.
