We have been running things here at Shop No 12 for quite a while now. Our place is right by the Jallandhar Bye Pass Chowk, specifically at the corner of Sardar Bridge near the police chowki. If you know the area in Surat village, especially the Bhatian part, you have probably seen our small sign. We handle properties and act as commission agents for folks living around here. It is a very busy spot with all the trucks and cars coming through the bypass all day long. We just open the doors every morning, sweep the floor, and see who needs help with land or houses. It is not a fancy office with air conditioning or leather chairs, just a practical place to sit down and talk business over a cup of tea. People often stop by when they are passing over the bridge or heading toward the police chowki for something else. We mostly deal with locals from around Bhatian who have known us for years. It is straightforward work. We help buy, sell, or rent, and we take a commission like anyone else in this trade. Some weeks are quiet and we just sit and watch the traffic, but other days it gets packed with people asking about plot prices. Being right by the police chowki makes it very easy for people to find us without getting lost. We do not do much advertising because most people just walk in. The bridge is a good landmark if you're far out. We have seen the neighborhood change a lot. We just try to get through the daily paperwork.
