Himalaya Dye Chem is tucked away in Industrial Area A Textile Colony 19 A. This part of town is always busy with trucks and workers, especially since there are so many textile mills nearby. Our shop is where we mix and keep all sorts of dyes and chemicals used for coloring fabrics. There’s always a faint smell of vinegar or something sharper in the air, depending on what we’re mixing that day. The walls have a few colorful stains on them where buckets might have splashed over the years. We aren't a big chemical plant; we’re more of a local supplier for the smaller outfits that need specific colors. We have rows of plastic drums and bags of powder stacked up along the sides of the room. It’s not the cleanest looking place, but we know our stuff when it comes to getting the right shade for a batch of cotton or wool. We don't spend money on fancy packaging or brochures. Most people find us because they need a specific dye and someone told them we might have it in the back. We just focus on getting the ratios right and making sure the containers are sealed tight before they leave the shop. It’s a bit of a messy job, but it’s what we do.
