Ali Hair Dresser

My shop, Ali Hair Dresser, sits right near Samrala Chowk in Ludhiana. It’s a busy spot, with a lot of traffic passing by all day long. If you know the Samrala area, you know how loud it can get with the trucks and buses. I’ve lived and worked here for a long time. The shop is small, but it’s enough for what I do. I mainly do haircuts and shaves for the men around here. It’s not one of those modern salons with air conditioning and fancy lights. We have a couple of sturdy chairs and some sharp razors. Most of my customers are regulars who have been coming to me for years. We talk about local news or whatever is happening in Samrala while I work. Sometimes people just drop in to say hello and sit for a minute. The walls have a few old posters on them, and the floor is a bit worn out from all the walking. I start early in the morning because that’s when the older men like to come in. By the afternoon, it gets quite warm, so I keep the door open. You can hear the horns from the chowk constantly. It’s just how it is here. I don’t have any big signs, just the name Ali Hair Dresser on the front. It’s a simple living, but I like being my own boss. If you’re ever stuck near the chowk and need a trim, you can find me there. It’s just me working day by day.
