Zari Art & Boutique

We are tucked away in Kanghi Wali Gali here in Lucknow. It’s a busy spot in the Katrajahangir Nakhas area, and most days you’ll find us surrounded by fabrics and threads. We’ve been at 239/61 for a while now. The lane gets narrow and it can be a bit of a squeeze when people are moving through, but that is just how this part of the city is. Some days we are very busy with the sewing machines going non-stop, and other days we just sit and sort out the inventory. Zari work takes a lot of time and patience, so we spend most of our hours looking closely at the details. We don’t have fancy displays or anything like that. People mostly know us because they live nearby or heard about us from a neighbor. It’s just us here working on the boutique stuff every morning until evening. Sometimes the power goes out and we just wait it out or work by the door where there is more light. It isn't a huge place, but it fits what we need to do. If you walk down the street near the old buildings, you will see our sign. We keep things pretty simple. There is always a lot of dust from the road, so we spend a good amount of time cleaning the glass and the counters before we start. That is basically our daily life here in the boutique.
