Our office is over at 1/338, Vibhav Khand Gomti Nagar Lucknow Lucknow-226010 Uttar Pradesh. It’s a well-known area, but our street is a bit more tucked away. Uttam Rural Micro Benefit Foundation is really about the smaller details of helping folks out. We aren't a big bank or some huge financial firm. We’re just a foundation working out of a house in Lucknow. The rooms are filled with the sound of old fans and people talking. We spend a lot of time looking at numbers and trying to make things work for people who don't have much. It’s a lot of sitting at desks and filling out forms, which isn't very exciting to talk about, but it’s what needs to happen. We don't use big words or try to confuse anyone. If you come by, you’ll probably find us drinking tea and going over the ledger. The neighborhood is nice, and we’ve been here long enough that the postman knows us all by name. We don't have a mission statement on the wall; we just know what we have to do every morning. Sometimes the work feels slow, but we just keep at it. Lucknow is a big city, but we try to keep our focus on the rural side of things where the help is really needed. It’s just us, a few desks, and a lot of determination to keep things moving forward.
