Urwasi Beauty Parlour is down in River Bank Colony, on Nabi Ullah Road in the Kaisarbagh area. This part of Lucknow has a lot of history, and you can feel it in the old buildings and narrow streets. Our shop is in a convenient spot for the people living in the colony. It is a simple place with a few mirrors and the usual tools for parlour work. We don't have the newest gadgets, but we have everything we need to do a good job. Nabi Ullah Road stays very busy with rickshaws and pedestrians, so it is never truly quiet outside. Inside, we just have our regular customers who have been coming to us for years. We know their kids and we know what happened at their last family wedding. It is the kind of place where the conversation is just as important as the service. We keep our products on a small glass counter and use simple towels that we wash every day. The ceiling fan wobbles a little bit, but it keeps the air moving when the Lucknow humidity gets too high. We don't try to look like those fancy places in the malls. We are just a local shop in Kaisarbagh where women can come in, get their work done, and have a chat about the neighborhood. It is honest work and we enjoy being part of the daily life of the colony.
