Our place, Touch And Glow Beauty Parlour, is located in New Market over on Ashok Marg. It’s a busy little corner of Nishatgunj, especially since we are so close to the police chowki. You can usually hear the sirens or the police talking nearby. We’ve been in this spot for a while now. The shop is small and simple. We have a couple of chairs and some mirrors that we’ve had since we opened. It’s not one of those high-end salons you find in the posh areas of Lucknow. We just provide basic services for the women in the neighborhood. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but they hold a lot of memories. People come in to get their eyebrows done or a quick haircut before they head home. We know most of the people who live around here in the 226007 area. It’s a decent place to work. Sometimes it gets a bit loud with the traffic on Ashok Marg, but we get used to it. We don’t have a big team, just a few of us making sure things run okay. We don’t use any fancy language to describe what we do. It’s just a parlour where you can come and sit for a bit while we get to work. The market stays busy until late, so we are usually here until the sun goes down and the street lights come on.
