We are tucked away at 3/21, Vivek Khand in Gomti Nagar, Lucknow. One of the best things about our location is that we’re right above Brijwasi Bakery. You can usually smell the fresh bread and biscuits throughout the day, which is a nice distraction. Gomti Nagar is a fairly large area, but Vivek Khand has its own pace. Our tutorials take place in a few rooms that are set up quite simply. We have wooden desks that have been around for a while and plenty of chalk and markers. It’s a very local Lucknow setup, nothing like those big chain institutes you see in the malls. We’ve got a small balcony where we sometimes stand to take a break and watch the people going into the bakery below. The teaching happens in a very relaxed way. We aren’t big on strict corporate rules; we just want to make sure the students learn what they need to. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait for the backup to kick in, but that’s just part of life here. We have a lot of regular students from the neighborhood who just walk over. The office part of the place is usually a bit messy with books and old test papers, but we know where everything is. It’s a comfortable, slightly worn-in space where we put in our hours every day. It feels like a part of the local community rather than a business.
