You can find us in the Dildar Complex in Lucknow, specifically at Shop Number 5 on the first floor. It’s the shop owned by Niyamatullah, and that is where Suveb Sarees does all its business. Being in Lucknow means we are surrounded by a lot of history and a lot of competition when it comes to clothes. The complex gets very crowded, especially on the weekends when everyone is out shopping. You have to climb the stairs to get to us, which can be a bit of a workout if you’re carrying heavy bundles of sarees. Inside the shop, it’s mostly stacks of fabric from floor to ceiling. We don't have much room for fancy displays, so we just show people what they ask for. The light in the complex isn't always the best, but we have some bright bulbs inside so we can see the colors properly. We have been here for a while and the other shopkeepers are all like neighbors to us. We talk about the market and the weather while we drink our tea. It gets very hot in Lucknow during the summer months, so the shop can feel a bit stuffy, but we have some fans to keep the air moving. We aren't trying to be the biggest store in the city, just a reliable place where the work gets done. It’s a bit of a squeeze sometimes with all the stock, but we make it work.
