Suneel General Store

Suneel General Store is situated right near the 1st Gate of Husainabad on Husainabad Road here in Lucknow. Being so close to the gate means we get a lot of foot traffic. It’s a small general store where we keep things like matches, cigarettes, snacks, and basic groceries. The space is a bit tight, so you have to mind your step when you come in. We’ve been in this spot for several years now. My father started it, and now I spend most of my time here. It’s a busy neighborhood, and there is always something happening outside on the street. We don't have a big team or anything, just us making sure the shelves aren't empty. Sometimes we run out of things faster than expected because of a sudden rush. The fans hum all day to keep the air moving, especially during those long Lucknow summers. People often stop by just to ask for directions or to check the time while they buy a small item. We don't mind; it's part of being in a community like Hussainabad. The 1st Gate is a good landmark, so people find us pretty easily. It’s hard work and the hours are long, but seeing the familiar faces of our neighbors makes it worth the effort. We just focus on getting through the daily tasks and keeping the shop running as best as we can.
