D-4 in Janpath Market is where we have been for a long time. This is a classic part of the city and it is always full of tourists and people looking for a good bargain. Our shop and office for Sugandhco are right in the thick of all that action. It is a small space, and we have to use every single inch of the walls to store our perfumes and oils. The counters are made of heavy dark wood and have been there for decades. It is not like a modern mall store with bright neon lights and empty floor space. It is crowded and smells like a mix of a hundred different things all at once. We spend our time talking to people who walk in and trying to find the right scent that they like. Behind the counter, there is a lot of paperwork and boxes that need to be unpacked and sorted. It can get a bit overwhelming when the market is busy, especially on the weekends when the crowds are thick. We have a small back room where we keep the extra stock, and it is a real squeeze to get back there. The staff knows most of the regular shoppers by their first names. We drink tea from the shop next door and watch the people go by when things are slow. It is a traditional way of doing business without any of that corporate polish. We just sell our fragrances.
