Subhash Bhandari Memorial Foundation

The Subhash Bhandari Memorial Foundation is located at 280/12, Blunt Square, near the Durgapuri Mandir in Lucknow. We’ve been in this 226001 area for a long time. The foundation was started in memory of Subhash Bhandari because he was the kind of person who always helped others. We try to keep that spirit going here in our daily work. Our office is in a busy part of Lucknow, so there is always noise from the traffic and the bells from the temple nearby. We do various things like helping with local education or helping families who are going through a rough patch. It’s a small operation. We have a couple of rooms where we store books and some old desks. People stop in all the time to ask for advice or just to share some news. We don't have a big marketing budget. Most of our work is done by volunteers from the neighborhood who have a few spare hours. We don't always get everything perfect. Sometimes we run out of supplies or we can't help everyone as much as we want to. But we stay open and we keep trying. It’s a local effort through and through. Being near Durgapuri Mandir means we see a lot of people every day. We also spend time just walking around the square and talking to the shop owners. It helps us stay in touch with what people actually need instead of guessing. We are just part of the fabric of this neighborhood now.
