Sri Rameshwar Beauty Parlour

Sri Rameshwar Beauty Parlour is on the Main Road in Jageshwar Puri, over in Lucknow. Being on the main road means we get a lot of people just dropping in because they saw the sign while passing by. Lucknow gets very hot and humid, so our parlor is a place where women can come to get their hair tied up or their face cleaned. The shop is simple with a few chairs and big mirrors that I try to keep polished. I don't have a big staff, so I do most of the work myself or with one assistant. We see a lot of different people, from housewives to office workers who stop by on their way home. The traffic outside is constant, and you can always hear the horns and the buses. We usually have some tea around four o'clock, and sometimes the neighbors come in just to sit and talk for a bit even if they don't need any work done. It’s a relaxed kind of place. I don't follow any fancy trends from the big cities; we just do the classic styles that people like. The floor is tiled and easy to sweep up the hair at the end of the day. It’s been my life for several years now, running this shop in Jageshwar Puri. It’s not a fancy salon, just a regular parlor where we try to be honest and do a steady job.
