Smk Devi Beauty Parlours

This shop is located right on the Main Road at B.N. Verma Road here in Lucknow. Smk Devi Beauty Parlours is where I spend most of my days. I’ve lived in this 226018 area for a long time and decided to open this place to help out with the family income. It’s just me and one other girl usually. We handle the usual things like facials, hair oiling, and bridal makeup when it's the right season. The street outside is always noisy with traffic but once you step inside, it’s a bit calmer. We have some old posters on the wall showing different hairstyles from a few years back. The floor is tiled but some of them are cracked from when we moved the heavy chairs around. We don't have a receptionist, so if the phone rings while we are busy, it just rings. We get a lot of students coming in because the prices are fair and we don't try to sell them stuff they don't need. It’s a practical place. We use ordinary towels and whatever products we find work best from the market nearby. It’s not a spa, just a parlor for people who want to look a bit better before a party or a wedding. We keep a diary for bookings but half the time people just walk in and wait their turn on the blue bench. We stay open until the market closes.
