S.L.General Store

S.L. General Store is located right in Ramesh Plaza on Faizabad Road. If you know Lucknow, you probably know where the Tunday Kababi is, and we are right opposite that spot. It is a busy part of Sanjay Gandhi Puram. We keep a bit of everything because people around here need stuff for their kitchens and homes. You can find soap, biscuits, and those little packets of spices. It’s not a big supermarket, just a regular store where you walk in and ask for what you need. Often, the traffic on the main road is so loud you have to shout a bit to be heard. I spend a lot of time checking the expiry dates on the milk and bread we get every morning. Sometimes the delivery trucks are late and we have to wait. It is a lot of work to keep the shelves filled up. People come in after eating their kebabs across the street, usually looking for some water or a mint. The floor gets a bit dusty because of all the construction and cars outside, but we sweep it when we can. My family has been doing this for a while. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just know we are here. If we don't have something, we try to get it the next day. It’s just how we run things in this part of Lucknow.
