Shree Ganesh Bhandar

In the middle of Garbar Jhala, things are always moving fast. Being in Aminabad means Shree Ganesh Bhandar is right in the thick of the Lucknow crowd. It is a very tight space, and the lanes are so narrow that sometimes two people can’t pass each other without bumping shoulders. My shop is packed from the floor to the ceiling with all sorts of general items. We have stacks of notebooks, different kinds of cleaning supplies, and those small everyday things people forget they need until they see them. The lights are a bit dim in the back, and the air smells like a mix of old paper and the street food from the stalls nearby. I’ve spent most of my life here, watching the shoppers haggle outside. It gets incredibly noisy, especially during the festival seasons when you can barely hear yourself think. We don't have a lot of room for fancy stuff, so everything is just piled up where it fits. I spend the afternoons checking the stock and talking to the other shopkeepers when there's a rare quiet moment. You have to be quick with your hands here because customers are always in a rush to beat the traffic. It’s not a polished store by any means, but it’s been part of this market for as long as I can remember. It is just how things are here.
