Shilpkar

Shilpkar is located at Plot Number 487B in the C Block area of Indira Nagar. We are right on Church Road, which is easy enough to find if you know this neighborhood at all. This place is definitely more of a dusty workshop than anything else. We focus on making things by hand, mostly doing stonework or different types of carvings depending on what someone has ordered. The yard out front is usually full of raw stone blocks and half-finished pieces that we are still working on. It can get quite messy with all the stone dust and little chips flying around when the hammers are going. We have a small group of guys who have been working here for many years. They have a lot of experience with the stone and don't really need much direction from anyone else. We don't have a fancy front office or a receptionist to greet you. If you come by to see us, you'll probably find us out back with the tools in our hands. We just take it one project at a time. Sometimes we are working on something for a local building, other times it’s just a smaller piece for someone’s house or garden. Indira Nagar is a good place to be, and we've been here on Church Road for a long time now. The work is loud and physically demanding, but we've grown used to the noise over the years. We just let the work be what it is.
