Ambedkar Market in Aliganj Bazar is where you can find us. We are located in the Kataha area of Lucknow. It’s a typical market spot, always full of noise and people buying things. The shop is small and has that old-school feel to it. We have the usual barber chairs that have been here for a long time. They are a bit squeaky but still comfortable enough. Men from around Aliganj come in for their regular shaves or a quick trim. We don't have any fancy music or anything, just the sound of the scissors and the radio playing in the background. Sometimes we talk about politics, or sometimes we just work in silence if the customer is tired. The market outside is always moving, so there’s plenty to look at through the front window. We keep the razors ready and the towels stacked up near the sink. It’s a bit dusty because of the road, but we try to wipe down the mirrors every morning before the first person walks in. We have been in this part of Lucknow for a while now, and we know most of the shopkeepers nearby. It’s a simple way to earn a living. We don't use any big words to describe what we do. It’s just hair and beards, and we do it every day from morning till the market closes at night when we finally lock up.
