We are located out on Kursi Road in the Jankipuram area, specifically around Behata. It’s a bit of a trek for some, but for the people living nearby, it’s just the local spot. The shop isn't massive, but it fits what we need. We focus on men’s hair, mostly doing cuts and that hair pressing style that stays popular. The mirrors have a few smudges sometimes, but you can see yourself well enough. It’s often dusty outside because of the road, so we’re always wiping down the chairs. I’ve been working in Lucknow for a while now and decided to stay here. The neighborhood is growing. You’ll hear the bikes and trucks passing by while you’re sitting in the chair. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just use the natural light from the door. It’s a bit noisy, but that is just part of being in this part of town. We don’t really do appointments; people just walk in and wait on the bench. Usually, there’s a newspaper or someone talking about cricket. It’s a basic parlour, no air conditioning, just a ceiling fan that works hard. We use standard scissors and old-school combs.
