Shanu Beauty Parlour & Garments

Our shop is over in Star Plaza, right across from the Manodaya Guest House on Iim Road. We decided to do both things here, beauty work and selling garments. It seemed like a good idea because women like to look at clothes while they wait for their turn. We are in the Shalimar Garden area of Lucknow. The shop isn't huge but we make it work. We have some racks with suits and stuff, and then the area for threading or hair. It gets quite busy during the wedding season since everybody wants new outfits and to look nice. Lucknow summers are tough, so we keep it cool inside. We mostly see the ladies from the nearby apartments. Some days are slow and we just sit and talk, other days we don't have time to eat lunch. We try to keep the stock updated with what's local. The guest house across the street helps people find us. It is just a regular local business run by us. Nothing complicated or high-end. We’ve been at this spot for a bit now and we are part of the daily life of this plaza. If you're near Sita Pur Road, you can easily spot the plaza. It’s just us doing our daily work, selling a few clothes and doing basic beauty stuff for the neighbors. We aren't trying to be fancy, just useful to the people living around here. It's a simple way to earn a living in Lucknow.
