Shalini Conce

Shalini Conce operates out of No. 3/296 in Viram Khand 3, which is part of Gomti Nagar. It is a quieter neighborhood compared to the main market areas, which we actually prefer. Our setup is inside a residential-style building, so it feels more like a home than a stiff office. We have a few rooms dedicated to our work. One room is mostly for storage, and the other is where we sit and handle the daily tasks. We don't really have a sign out front, so you have to know the house number to find us. We deal with various bits of business that come our way. The atmosphere is pretty relaxed. We don't wear suits or anything formal. Usually, there is some chai being made in the kitchen area. We spend a lot of time on the phone or just organizing files on the desks. The curtains stay drawn during the afternoon to keep the Lucknow heat out. It is a simple way of working. We don't have big meetings or long speeches. We just look at what needs to be done for the day and we do it. Sometimes the neighbors come by for a chat, which is the nice thing about being in Viram Khand. It is just a small, local operation trying to keep things steady and simple without making a big deal out of it. We take our work seriously but in a quiet way.
